Privacy Policy

When you use GuessrBot on Discord, we store:

• your Discord user ID and display name, and the dates you first and last played;
• your game results: scores, XP, TrueSkill rating, placements, response times, streaks, game, mode, continent and language chosen, and game duration;
• for Country of the Day (/guess): each country you guess, day by day, whether and when you found the answer, and your current and best streak;
• your achievements;
• for each server: its ID and name, when the bot joined or left it, and the channels an administrator configured for the bot.

During a game, the bot reads messages in that channel to check answers and deletes correct answers to keep the game readable. It does not store message content.

If you use the in‑game “Give feedback” button, your rating, comment, the game, the server name and your Discord username and ID are posted to the developer's private Discord channel.

• Feedback form: your rating, your answers and, only if you enter it, your Discord username. The message is forwarded to the developer's private Discord channel; the website itself keeps no copy. Your IP address is held in memory for at most one hour, only to limit each visitor to 3 messages per hour.
• Hosting: like any website, our host Vercel processes technical request data (IP address, browser) to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
• Visit statistics, only if you accept: Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights record the page visited, the referring site, browser, operating system, device type, country and page‑loading measurements. They use no cookies; visits are counted with a temporary identifier that Vercel resets every day, and your IP address is not stored.
• Two cookies: your language choice and your answer to the statistics banner. See the Cookie Policy.

The website has no accounts, no newsletter, no advertising and no third‑party trackers.

• Running the games, stats (/stat), leaderboards and achievements you ask for: performance of the service (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
• Preventing abuse, keeping the service secure, and improving game balance from aggregated statistics: our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Feedback you choose to send and visit statistics: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time.

We do not sell, rent or share your data for advertising. Leaderboards show display names and scores to other Discord users, as part of the game. Our service providers are:

• Discord Inc. (USA): the platform the bot runs on, and the private channels where feedback arrives;
• Sparked Host LLC (USA): the server that runs the bot and stores its database;
• Vercel Inc. (USA): website hosting and, with your consent, visit statistics.

These companies are based in the United States. Discord and Vercel cover transfers from the European Union with the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses; Sparked Host commits in its privacy policy to complying with the GDPR.

• Game data: as long as GuessrBot operates, unless you ask us to delete it.
• Feedback (website and bot): up to 12 months, then deleted.
• IP address for the feedback limit: one hour at most, in memory only.
• Cookies: 12 months for the language choice, 6 months for your statistics choice.

You can access, correct or delete your data, object to its use, restrict it, or receive a copy in a portable format. To delete your game data, follow the steps on the data deletion page. For anything else, write to help.guessrbot@gmail.com or contact us on our Discord support server. We reply within one month.

If you think your rights have not been respected, you can complain to the French data protection authority, the CNIL, or the authority of your country.

GuessrBot is not directed at children under 13. Discord requires users to be at least 13, or older where local law sets a higher age. If you believe a child under that age has used the bot, write to help.guessrbot@gmail.com and we will delete their data.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, such as restricted access to the database and HTTPS on the website. No system is completely secure.

We will update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes, and announce significant changes on our Discord support server.
